“We are making great progress on the lakefront and North Coast Connector planning and this focused and purpose-driven entity is the way to ensure that our planning translates into action,” Mayor Justin M. Bibb said, according to a press release from the Mayor's Office.

The NCWDC is currently seeking an executive director to lead the implementation of Cleveland's vision for the lakefront. The executive director will play a crucial role in bringing the city's plans to fruition. The creation of the NCWDC was approved by the Cleveland City Council earlier this year, establishing a hybrid public-private structure.

The NCWDC will have several key responsibilities, including planning, financing, land management and coordination, development oversight, community benefits, and development coordination. Additionally, it will be responsible for partnership and oversight of a potential New Community Authority and/or financing and development districts as needed to implement the project.

The launch of the NCWDC marks an important step in Cleveland's efforts to revitalize and develop its lakefront area. With a dedicated entity focused on the development of the North Coast Lakefront, the city aims to create a vibrant and attractive destination for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
