The Bay Village Community/Senior Services will be accepting donations throughout March for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District's Project ACT. The collection point is at the Bay Village Community Services/Senior Center.
Project ACT, according to the Bay Village newsletter, provides direct instructional and support services to children and youth living in temporary emergency shelters, transitional housing, and those who are doubled-up with other families due to loss of housing, economic hardship or similar situations.
The Bay Village Community Services is seeking donations of various items including African American Barbie Dolls, puzzles, art kits, board games, Play-Doh, kinetic sand kits, action figures, socks (all sizes), sweat suits (all sizes), and food gift cards from McDonald's, Chipotle, Dunkin Donuts among others. This information was also provided by the Bay Village newsletter.
The Bay Village newsletter further informs that donations can be dropped off during normal business hours from Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Bay Village Community Services/Senior Center located at 300 Bryson Lane.
According to the school district's website, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District employs a holistic and comprehensive approach in Project Act. The aim is to deliver instructional and support services necessary for easing a homeless child's transition into school while ensuring their success and ongoing participation in the educational system. The website further adds that support services encompass everything necessary to meet students' physical, social, and emotional needs while empowering parents to support their children.
