The City of Avon has announced that it will commence registration for the Safety Zone program next month. The program is targeted at children who will be entering kindergarten in the forthcoming school year, although participation is not a prerequisite for kindergarten entry.
According to a post on the City of Avon's Facebook page, the week-long sessions are scheduled to take place from June 10-14 and June 17-21. The venue for Safety Town will be the Avon Board of Education building.
The same source also reveals that the Safety Zone program will be facilitated by the Avon Parks & Recreation, Police, and Fire Departments. It is open exclusively to Avon residents whose children are due to enter kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year.
In another post by the City of Avon on Facebook, it was stated that each day of Safety Zone will concentrate on a different topic. These topics include fire safety, traffic signals, riding a school bus, and healthy living. For any inquiries regarding this program, individuals can reach out to the Avon Parks & Rec office at 440-937-6106.
