4.7% of Lorain County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Lorain County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 7,138 people out of the 311,737 living in Lorain County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Lorain County has decreased compared to the 4.9% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Lorain County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 144,896 people who had a job during that time, 236 were employed in the Armed Forces and 144,660 belonged to the civilian labor force.
