The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is set to receive a $48,000 grant from the Cuyahoga County Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program to support its Pre-K program. This grant is part of a larger initiative to ensure that all children aged 3 to 5 in participating public or private child care centers, preschools, or family child care homes receive high-quality care to prepare them for kindergarten. The grant is contingent upon the Cuyahoga County Council appropriating the necessary funds for the program. The total funding for the program is not to exceed $9.2 million per year, with a total contract amount of $27.7 million for all 43 participating organizations. The primary focus of the program is to ensure that low-income children are prepared to succeed when they enter kindergarten. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is one of the 43 organizations that have been awarded grants under this program.
