The Cleveland State University men's basketball team has accepted an invitation to compete in the 2023 Discount Tire College Basketball Invitational (CBI) tournament, which will held March 18 - 22 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
You Cleveland State Vikings are the ninth seed in the 16-team field and will take on Eastern Kentucky in the first round on Sunday, March 19 at 11 a.m. EST. This marks the third consecutive postseason appearance for Cleveland State, and the first ever appearance in the CBI.
The CBI features a 16-team field and is a single-elimination, bracket style tournament. Games will be held at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. This marks the 16th year of the tournament, and the third consecutive year that it will be held in Daytona Beach.
The Vikings join fellow Horizon League foe Milwaukee in the tournament field. The first round and quarterfinals will be broadcast live on FloHoops. Both the semifinals and CBI championship game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
