Clayton Harris serving 7th term on committee
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Police Chief Clayton Harris has been reappointed to Gov. Mike DeWine’s Ohio AMBER Alert Advisory Committee.
Harris has served consecutive two-year terms on the committee since 2009. His latest term began Feb. 23 and will run through Feb. 6, 2025.
“I’m deeply honored to serve on Gov. DeWine’s AMBER Alert Advisory Committee,” he said. “Every minute counts when a child is reported missing. This committee’s continuing research will help improve AMBER Alert issuance processes and reunite children with their families quickly and safely.”
The committee strives to increase the chances for the safe recovery of victims of abduction or other life-threatening situations when administering AMBER Alert, Endangered Missing Child Alert, Endangered Missing Adult Alert and Ohio Blue Alert programs.
Ohio’s AMBER Alert Plan launched Jan. 1, 2003.
Harris, who is also dean of Tri-C's Public Safety Center of Excellence, has served as chief of police since 1995.
