Good Neighbor Ambassador program beautifies communities and advances careers
The partnership between Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) is a win-win.
Participants in NEORSD’s Good Neighbor Ambassador program provide community beautification services while gaining hands-on experience and advancing their careers.
All ambassadors take part in Career Advancement Competitive Edge, a 12-week course led by Marquita Rockamore of Tri-C's Corporate College®.
“More often than not, people are let go [from jobs] not because of what they don’t know technically, but due to what they don’t know professionally or socially,” Rockamore recently told The Land. “This program helps expose them to a lot of new information that can help them be successful and advance in the workplace.”
Good Neighbor Ambassadors have performed general landscaping services such as weeding, mowing, tree trimming, trash removal and more throughout Northeast Ohio since 2014.
Each ambassador must work 30 hours per week at NEORSD sites in addition to completing the certification course at Tri-C.
