Freshman guard scored 36 points in two weekend tournament games
Triceratops guard Briana Bunkley was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Dec. 12-18 — marking the first time she has achieved this honor.
In a two-game weekend Dec. 16-17, Bunkley averaged a double-double at the Mott Community College (MCC) Roundball Classic. She scored 36 points, pulled down 20 rebounds and added five steals and two assists. Bunkley netted 18 points in games against MCC and Alpena Community College (ACC), adding 13 rebounds in the Triceratops’ 72-56 win over ACC.
The freshman from Akron (Kenmore-Garfield) averages 15.0 points per game for the Triceratops (7-5) this season. She ranks sixth in the conference in scoring average and first in 3-point field goals (28 of 97).
