Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) President Michael A. Baston spoke about the need for higher education to adapt to modern challenges in the aftermath of the pandemic. During a podcast with EdUp Experience, Baston explains how colleges and universities must work to define the “now normal” and adjust to this new landscape and evolving student needs. 

“We have to be more agile and flexible as institutions to solve the real problems of real people today,” he said. 

Baston and College leaders identified three areas of opportunity at Tri-C: 

• Creating a culture of clarity that offers guided pathways for students 
• Redesigning the student experience to provide personal and academic 24-hour support  
• Strengthening value propositions, as more people question the value of higher education
