VILLA ANGELA ST.JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL: Virtual parent-teacher conferences

Villa Angela St.Joseph High School issued the following announcement on Sept.24.

In order to adhere to the COVID-19 safety procedures we have in place for students, teachers, staff and visitors, we will be holding the first parent-teacher conferences virtually.

In an effort to put a face with a name and better understand the expectations of the courses your child is in, a video introduction of each faculty member has been posted to the VASJ website. These videos are brief introductions to the teacher and exceptions of the course(s) he/she is teaching this year.

Please visit vasj.com/parentteacherconferences to watch the videos. In the upper-right hand corner of the YouTube player, you will see three horizontal lines with “1/35” written underneath. Please click on that icon to open up the full playlist of videos. Scroll through the videos and click on the ones for your student’s teachers to watch. The videos are listed in alphabetical order.

Parents will still be invited to have a virtual conference with teachers. Each teacher will have available time slots on Thursday, Sept. 24 and Friday, Oct. 2. Teachers will send out an email with an invitation to sign up for a time slot. Teachers will then create a Zoom session and invite the parent(s) to the Zoom session for that time. We ask all parents to enter those Zoom sessions using their legal name and not a “screen name” or “nickname.”Since this virtual format takes more time and is more labor-intensive than the traditional parent-teacher conference format, we ask that you limit your request for a virtual meeting to only those teachers whose class you feel your child is not performing to expectations. For any other inquiries, please email the teacher.
